| Welcome to Heathcote Electronics web site. We manufacture and sell a range of electronic controls for model railways. Many of these use infrared train detection. | |||||
| The most basic infrared unit is the IRDOT-1 which lights control panel LEDs to indicate the presence of out of sight trains. Other units use infrared train detection to automatically control signals and points. | |||||
| Our SA units can automate part or all of a model railway. Each unit controls a specific operation such as a station stop, shuttle, storage sidings or passing loop. An example is the SA4-S passing loop controller. This controls the two points and two starter signals of the passing loop, together with the speed and direction of the train. The units have gradual and adjustable acceleration. | |||||
| The SA units are for locomotives with conventional control. Apart from the coach lighting boards which are designed for DCC operation our other units are suitable for use with any control system. | |||||
| Most units can be combined. This is illustrated by the reverse loops. More detailed instructions are supplied with the units. Please write phone or email if you have any questions or want advice on automating an operation which is not described. | |||||
